Peaceful home exterior at Serenity Co-Living

Our story

Built by women who understand recovery

Serenity Co-Living was founded because we know firsthand how hard it is to stay sober without a safe place to land. This home exists to be that place.

Why Serenity exists

Recovery doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in kitchens, at kitchen tables, in late-night conversations with someone who gets it. It happens when you have a door you can close, a bed that's yours, and people around you who are fighting the same fight.

Serenity Co-Living was founded in San Antonio, TX by women who have walked this road themselves. We saw too many women leave treatment with nowhere safe to go — back to the same environments, the same triggers, the same impossible choices. We wanted to change that.

This home is not a program. It's not a facility. It's a real house, with real women, building real lives. We hold each other accountable, celebrate each other's milestones, and show up when things get hard. That's what recovery looks like here.

Recovery philosophy

We believe recovery is possible for every woman who walks through our door

We don't subscribe to a single model of recovery. Whether you're in AA, NA, SMART Recovery, or working with a therapist, what matters is that you're actively engaged in your sobriety. We support whatever path is working for you — and we ask that you bring that commitment into this home.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom”

— Anaïs Nin

What we stand for

Safety above everything

Zero tolerance for substances on the property. Every resident deserves to come home to a space that is completely, unconditionally safe.

Community over isolation

Addiction thrives in secrecy and loneliness. We build a culture where women show up for each other — not because they have to, but because they want to.

Structure as a gift

Curfews, house meetings, and chore rotations aren't punishments. They're the scaffolding that makes a stable life possible when everything else feels uncertain.

Dignity in every detail

Clean, comfortable, furnished rooms. A kitchen stocked for shared meals. A home that says: you are worth taking care of.

Progress, not perfection

We don't expect anyone to have it all figured out. We expect honesty, effort, and a willingness to keep going — even on the hard days.

Accountability with compassion

We hold each other to our commitments because we care about each other's futures. Accountability here looks like love, not punishment.
